A note from Julie

Dear friends,

I was twenty-five years old when a series of synchronicities compelled me to move to Cortes Island, B.C., and begin working at the front desk at Hollyhock. During that formative time, two passions became ignited for me: partnering with helping spirits, and spiritual evolution by way of long-term trainings.

Over twenty-five years later, Iโ€™ve come full circle. Iโ€™m overjoyed to invite you to my next year-long blended learning spiritual practitioner training consisting of two residential retreats at Hollyhock, the seeds for which were planted there over two decades ago.

By way of further context, you may be familiar with my three-year practitioner training,ย The Art and Practice of Shamanic Healing: A Three-Year Professional Training and Initiation, which has now been completed by three cohorts of beautiful practitioners. My guidance has simply been to divide the โ€œ3Y,โ€ as itโ€™s come to be known, into two levels: a year-long foundational training, and a two-year advanced training.

The extensive 3Y curriculum that I’ve taught since 2012 remains the same; itโ€™s simply being offered in a reimagined format in order to make the root teachings that form the basis of the first year accessible to a wider circle.

The current cohort of Becoming a Spiritual Healing Practitioner Level I: Theย Essentialsย is currently underway, contact us if you would like to be placed on the waiting list for future offerings.ย  (Please have a gander below in order to learn about the program design in more depth.)

The invitation to begin offering my retreats at Hollyhock came by way of another series of synchronicities โ€“ much like what I had experienced in 1999 โ€“ which called me back to Hollyhock. It’s a dream come true for me to lead immersive spiritual retreats at Hollyhock and I so look forward to sharing my heartโ€™s home with you.

With love,

Purpose of the training

By successfully completing the program, the goal is for you to be qualified to establish a private practice or expand your offerings as a professional spiritual healing practitioner providing the full complement of shamanic healing support for paying clients.

A dependable virtual rhythm between retreats

Circle will hold the complete calendar, recordings, transcripts, written summaries, the Sacred Grove, and dedicated spaces for Level II practicums and support.

Monthly day-long Virtual Practice Days (VPDs) and every-other-week Zoomies keep the curriculum alive and connected across the full two years.

03

Practice as a professional

Fieldwork, practice pods, and supervised practicums

Increasingly independent practice helps you translate the curriculum into safe, skillful work on behalf of real clients.

Individual fieldwork

Journeys on your own behalf, for peers, and for people outside the circle.

Practice pods

Six four-month pods, each meeting monthly for approximately four hours.

Practicums

Two recorded client sessions, each reviewed with Julie and a peer for feedback.

A space for reflection and shared practice

The Curriculum

The process of experiential immersion

Level II extends the foundation you have already built. The work is not simply to gather more techniques, but to recognise what each situation calls forโ€”and to respond with sensitivity, precision, and integrity.

Learning unfolds progressively through teaching, journeying, dialogue, repeated practice, and reflection. The residential and virtual elements form one continuous curriculum rather than separate experiences.

What you'll learn

Twenty areas of advanced study

The complete curriculum brings together advanced healing practices, practitioner development, and spiritual discernment.

1

100% Tuition

You can pay the full amount in one instalment or enter into a payment plan with the option of weekly, monthly, or quarterly payments.

2

A supportive option for anyone who requires more financial assistance. Scholarship amounts will be confirmed once we have reviewed all scholarship applications.

Scholarship application deadline:ย  December 31st, 2026

Tuition Amounts

The full tuition price for this two-year program is:

USD $7,977 / CAD $10,977

+ applicable taxes

Donations

If you wish to help offset the tuition costs for others, we invite you to make a tax-deductible donation to the Sounds True Foundation. Any amount you wish to gift is welcome and will directly increase the scholarship fund for this Level II program.

More information will be available soon about how to make a donation.

internship opportunity

Gain work experience while learning

To support your growth as a practitioner and to help you offset a portion of your program tuition, The Ennobling of the Heart is partnering with the Sounds True Foundation to create this internship opportunity.

The Ennobling of the Heart Internship

1

How it works

You provide spiritual healing sessions to clients either in person or virtually.

2

How clients pay

Your clients make a tax-deductible donation to the Sounds True Foundation by way of payment.

3

How your tuition is reduced

Each payment counts toward the discount of your second year program tuition. By the end of the first year (after the mid-stream retreat), you will know what your outstanding tuition balance will be. This, too, can be paid in installments.

Tiered Session Rates

How clients are recruited determines the rate they pay:

If you recruit your own clients, you set your rate.

If you receive clients via The Ennobling of the Heart, your clients will pay a discounted rate that will be set by the EOTH.

Our hope is that discounted sessions will lead to repeat clients who, eventually, will be carried into private practice with you.

FAQs

Yes, a limited number of tuition scholarships are available. If you would like to apply for a tuition scholarship, please click here to complete the application form. The deadline to submit your application is December 31st, 2026. Scholarships will be confirmed once we have reviewed all scholarship applications.

All participants must pay tax on their tuition because the Level II training includes three residential retreats in Canada, which are required elements that cannot be decoupled from the overall program. The amount of GST/HST you will pay depends on your home or business address:

Canadian Residents
Pay 5% GST in B.C. and other non-participating provinces, 13% HST in Ontario, 14% HST in Nova Scotia, and 15% HST in New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, and Prince Edward Island.ย

Non-Canadian Residents
Pay 5% GST because the in-person retreats are located in B.C.

No. Once the training begins in May, 2027, the circle will be closed.

ย
During this training, you will have the opportunity to gain extensive first-hand experience from facilitating and receiving spiritual healing sessions. This can provide you with an embodied experience of the potency of spiritual healing while also sensitizing you to the needs and considerations of the client.ย
ย
However, this training is intended for participants who wish to hone their skills as spiritual healing practitioners serving others, rather than those who are primarily seeking personal healing. Although you can receive extensive healing by way of the deliberate design of the program, it is imperative that your intention in applying to the training is to learn how to provide spiritual healing for others.
ย

Please note that the program is an experiential learning opportunity and is not used for diagnosing, curing, or treating any personal medical or psychological issues or problems, nor is the program a substitute for seeking the services of licensed health care providers.

ย

No. As of 2026, we no longer change our clocks. Please note that all times for this program are listed in Pacific Time (PT). It is your responsibility to ensure you correctly calculate any time differences, and join our virtual gatherings on time.

No. If you withdraw from the training and you would like to join a future cohort, you will be asked to begin the application process anew.

Once the training begins, the cohort is fixed for the duration of the year. Therefore, if anyone leaves the program, their place can’t be filled by another qualified participant. Given that, partial tuition refunds will only be issued when a participant is faced with a personal medical emergency or a death in their immediate family necessitating that they withdraw from the training. In those unforeseeable instances, a partial refund will be calculated and issued based on the date of withdrawal.ย

Yes, please submit two recorded sessions. It’s important for Julie to have enough content to review to accurately assess how you apply the skills you learned in the Level I training. If your recordings are passcode protected, please ensure you provide the passcode for each recorded session.

The important thing is that you demonstrate skills taught by Julie during the Level I training.
